Day One: The Setup

I just moved my KerrHome.net domain to Google Domains.

I have really only used it for email and the email forwarding built into the services makes it the perfect solution for my needs.  I can now drop the web hosting service completely and save over $100 a year.  I have not had a real web site for quite some time so no big loss of function.  There is an added benefit that the xyz@Kerrhome.net emails end up immediately in my gMail inbox now.

I have to say that the Google Domains service was easy to use and porting over my KerrHome.net domain was painless and happened in less than a day.  (Mostly waiting on the my old service to respond.)  At $12 a year including the Private Registration it really is a good deal.

I decided to try the Blog site as a landing point for www.KerrHome.net mainly since it was free.  But who knows maybe a online journal would be useful.  I will have to see how it goes but even if it ends up as just me posting erratically and no one  reading it, who will care.
